Aruba is a Caribbean island off the coast of Venezuela and is renowned for its white sandy beaches and tropical climate. Aruba is divided into the North East and South West coasts; the South West coast is home to unending white sandy beaches, turquoise seas and warm waters, while the North East coast, exposed to the Atlantic, has a small cluster of white sandy beaches, cacti, rough seas and a rocky coastline. Oranjestad is the capital city on the island and the waterfront is full of different vendors offering souvenirs, while the city’s Renaissance Mall boasts plenty of American and European apparel brands. When eating in Aruba, there are plenty of American chain name restaurants on the island, however you shouldn’t rush to these outlets, as the locally run restaurants run solely on tourist income so you are likely to get better quality food and warm service with a smile. To the North of the island you’ll find a handful of popular attractions from The Natural Pool; a lovely small pool hidden in a natural rock formation that juts out into the sea, The California Lighthouse; offering plenty of scenic views and Our Lady of Alto Visto Chapel; a very historic and picturesque chapel. Like other Caribbean islands, snorkelling and scuba diving are popular past times and in particular the Antilla Shipwreck dive sight is a must see attraction in Aruba.
