Weather in the United Arab Emirates
The UAE across the board is known for its sweltering desert climate. The weather is piping hot almost all year round, with the winter months slightly cooler. Temperatures regularly hover around 40 degrees, and rain fall is rare. For sun lovers, it is a destination where you can't go wrong. For those not acquainted with such hot temperatures, the UAE can still be hugely enjoyed. We recommend booking a luxury pool-side apartment, close to the beach and local shopping malls which will help you to keep cool.
Culture and Religion
Travellers should be aware that it is a Muslim location. Anyone travelling to this destination should be respectful of local traditions, customs, laws and religions, specifically when visiting religious grounds.
The month of Ramadan is celebrated in United Arab Emirates from 28th June – 27th July 2014. Local Muslims will observe this religious holiday and its customs between sunrise and sunset. This means that there are certain rules in place on the consumption of food and alcohol during these periods. Ramadan causes minimal impact on tourists, however, some services in restaurants and bars may be reduced.
Entry to the United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates - Dubai in particular - is a top hub for international flights operating onward connections to the Indian Ocean. It is popular, therefore, for travellers to combine a stay in the UAE with a beach holiday in, say, Mauritius.
Flights operate daily from the UK to the UAE. Dubai International Airport is ten minutes away from the city centre. It is the same story for Abu Dhabi, with its international becoming one of the fastest growing airports in the world in terms of passengers, new airline operators and infrastructure development.
